Let's learn more about one another.
The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario has certified me as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). Working with extremely sensitive people and those who battle perfectionism, self-criticism, overwhelm, and poor self-esteem is my area of expertise.
The day I learned that heightened sensitivity is a recognized, thoroughly studied trait is one I will never forget.
That day, a lot of things made sense to me. My suspicion that I functioned somewhat differently than most was confirmed. I at last realized why I felt everything so strongly and why I frequently needed additional time to regroup after social occasions. After coming to this self-discovery, I was able to stop criticizing myself for being sensitive and find the resources that helped me lead a more balanced life.
I've learnt to value my sensitivity and the natural talents that accompany it as a result of doing this. It indicates that, in my capacity as a therapist, I am extremely sympathetic, caring, and perceptive of the nuances that my clients express but which are occasionally missed.
After working in the corporate world for a company that offered in-house coaching, I discovered my career path as a therapist. I discovered when working with my coach that I much preferred her work to mine. I yearned for my work to have greater significance and influence. I studied counseling psychology for my master's degree at Yorkville University because of this desire.
My greatest passion is helping people discover greater balance and happiness in their daily lives, and I think I've found my calling. When I'm not working with clients, I'm most likely reading, hanging out in nature, talking to friends, practicing meditation, or hanging out with my pug, Charlie.
